WWDC 2012 Scheduled for June 11-15. $1599 Tickets Sell out in 2 Hours
Blink and you missed it. Apple sent out invitations this morning for 2012’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference, and it was only a matter of 2 hours before all the tickets were snatched up.
It’s no surprise that the event sold out—but the urgency with which developers bought the $1599 tickets is really something. Apparently, there’s no better place to be than Moscone West in San Francisco during the week of June 11-15.
As usual, the conference will feature loads of technical sessions led by Apple engineers, as developers are given a unique chance to learn about the innovations going on in the iOS and OS X realms… If you’re anything like us, then the iOS bits will get most of your attention, and there’s reason to expect significant news during WWDC, seeing as such major announcements as the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 were made in years past… But it will be interesting to see exactly what iPhone-related news comes out of the year’s conference, especially after the iPhone 4S announcement threw off the established cycle of handset releases.
Other noteworthy events taking place at WWDC 2012 include the Apple Design Awards and the WWDC Bash.
The sell-out time of 2 hours soundly beats the record of 10 hours that was set in 2011. It appears that developer interest in all things Apple has never been higher than it is at this moment. We could list possible reasons why, but is that really necessary?
