Verizon Announces the Share Everything Plan… Shared Data is Here with Unlimited Voice and Messages!

Well, we no longer have to talk about shared data plans as if they loom somewhere in the distant future. Verizon has hit us with “another first,” in their own words—this time introducing shared data through something they’re calling the Share Everything Plan.

Last time we talked about shared data, it was in reference to AT&T and their coming family plans. But now the focus is all on Verizon, seeing as the carrier has named June 28^th as the day that Share Everything plans will become available. I’m sure you’re wondering about the specs of these plans, so let’s get right to it:

It’s a beautiful thing to see those side-by-side columns of straight “Unlimited” for shared minutes and shared messages. Verizon was clearly aiming to impress, and I happen to think their shared data options hold the line when it comes to pricing. The lowest option gives you 1 GB for $50, with the shared plans maxing out at 10 GB for $100. You can get up to 10 devices on a Share Everything plan, and the monthly line access is $40 for a smartphone and $10 for a tablet (with other devices like basic phones and jetpacks falling at  $30 and $20). What’s more, there’s no extra charge for using your smartphone as a hotspot!

So, has Verizon delivered everything we’ve dreamt of for shared data? Their chief marketing officer, Tami Erwin, says Share Everything Plans will be the “new standard for wireless service… they are worry-free; customers can connect their 3G or 4G devices wherever and whenever they want on America’s most reliable network.”
