Space-time, A Free Location Sharing app, has set the Internet Abuzz

Are you ever curious where your friends are at? Have you ever tried to coordinate with them to meet up, but their description of their location was completely confusing and a little less than stellar? Well an app that was recently released might help you with that.

It’s called Space-time, and it’s setting the internet abuzz. Space-time will allow you to see your friend’s location, but not via the typical way through an app like you would expect. As long as your friend has a smartphone, be it an iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry, etc., all you have to do is sent them a text message with a clearly defined GPS link from the app, and if they click on it, their location will be shared with you. It’s that simple. The app doesn’t run in the background, so you don’t have to worry about anybody’s battery going kaput. It only does its thing when you request someone’s GPS location.

While some people find the whole location finding app business a little creepy, this one is unique in that any time you request a location, your friend has the option to accept or deny, so it’s completely up to them if they want to share where they are. Imagine if someone’s car is broken down, or you’re trying to meet up for lunch, or whatever other scenario you could think of. Space-time appears to be a great solution to that.

It’ll be interesting to see how it picks up, but for now, the developer has created quite a stir, especially since the app is completely free.

I love this app as I have friends with android phones and are technically challenged as well.
