Skype app for iPhone/iPad Introduces Photo Sharing, Now Less Battery Hungry
It’s always great when a free app gets a really valuable update, and that’s exactly what happened today when Skype announced that their iPhone/iPad app
would now support photo sharing.
It’s not like this is anything ground breaking—and you probably already have your usual methods for sharing photos amongst friends—but for those who rely heavily on Skype for their communication needs, things just got a lot better. Not only does the newly-updated Skype allow users to send pictures back and forth, it also comes bearing performance improvements aimed at making it use less battery power and run smoother. In the words of Skype’s official blog:
“We’ve also improved the overall performance of Skype’s mobile apps. We’ve made them less battery hungry when running in the background, so you’ll now be able to answer Skype calls throughout the day when they come in. And, as you’ll be able to keep Skype open, you can respond to or send IMs to friends and colleagues all day long. In addition, we’ve tried to make the app start and contact list load even faster, so you can do all the things you love to do with Skype more quickly.”
Bearing all of that in mind, this is definitely the best mobile version of Skype that iPhone/iPad users have ever had available. Will this change how much you use the communication client?
