Readdle releases free version of Calendars, renames paid version to Calendars+

Readdle has had one of the more popular calendar apps in the App Store with Calendars, and that’s probably not going to change anytime soon, as they’ve just released a free version. The paid version of Calendars is now Calendars+ (with more advanced features), while the new free version retains the simplified, older moniker.

Calendars is a straightforward, intuitive app for keeping track of your schedule that will sync with your Google Calendar. It comes complete with reminders, day/week/month and list views, and more. The new free app will retain many of the basic, yet powerful functions of the paid version, such as creating an event in just a few taps, simple drag and drop gestures when switching date and times, SMS notifications, and offline managing of events that eventually sync when you’re connected again.

If you by any chance had purchased the original version, you’ll retain all the functionality, such as support for multiple events, recurring reminders, event invitations, and more. All of this can be found in the new Calendars+ app, if you never purchased the old version, which retails for $6.99 in the App Store.

I’ve used the full version of the Calendars app in the past, and to be honest, I hardly ever needed many of the functions that come with the paid version. So if you’re looking for a new schedule and calendar app, Calendars might fit that bill.
