Quickoffice for iPad comes Free to Google Apps for Business users
We figured there was a good reason Google acquired Quickoffice back in June, but only now are we getting the full explanation… It turns out Google was planning to treat users of Google Apps for Business, and this is how they’ve chosen to do so… Those who subscribe to the new $50 per user model that was recently applied to Google Apps for Business can enjoy free access to Quickoffice starting immediately.
Quickoffice doesn’t need much introduction, right? The productivity app has been around in the App Store for quite awhile, providing a great solution for those who need to create and edit documents in programs such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. While we haven’t gotten inside to see if anything is different, this free version of Quickoffice being offered to Google Apps for Business users goes by a slightly altered title (Quickoffice—Exclusively for Google Apps for Business
). Since it was put out under Google’s supervision, users get to enjoy integration with Google Drive, which should supercharge the productivity you can expect to accomplish.
If you haven’t paid up for Google Apps for Business but would still like to get in on Quickoffice, you can always buy it in the App Store for $7.99… For Apps for Business members, the current deal requires that you use an iPad for the free version of Quickoffice, though it’s promised that smartphone (iPhone/Android) versions will be coming soon.
