One of my favorite writing and note-taking apps for the iPad of all time has gone free after being acquired by Evernote, and now you have no excuse to not download Penultimate.
Penultimate gives you a handwriting experience for note taking that is hard to compare to anything else (Read full review), as well as the ability to create drawings and schematics with relative ease. With virtual books akin to a Moleskin or Field Notes journal, Penultimate has a real world look and feel that mimics the writing experience quite nicely.
