New Comic Book app reintroduces the Simpsons to the App Store
Springfield loves the App Store, even if not all Simpsons-related apps perform perfectly right from the get go… The latest app to carry the Simpsons theme is one for the readers out there—or at least those that don’t mind having some text go along with their pictures. It’s Simpsons Comics, available now as a free download!
The app was developed by Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics, and the comiXology platform is responsible for bringing it to the store. Among the titles that are available at launch are Radioactive Man, Bart Simpson, and Simpsons Comics. But of course things won’t end there. Bongo promises that further comics will become available for purchase in the near future, so readers should be able to stay loaded with Simpsons content for some time to come. According to Bill Morrison of Bongo, the Simpsons Comics app is intended to give tablet owners the same joy experienced by those who collected the books:
“Our plan is to help Simpsons comic fans to experience the fun of collecting our comics in the digital world the same way they would collect printed comics.”
This occasion is being commemorated with a free offering from comiXology, so head over to their site if you’re interested in picking up Simpsons Comic #100 for no charge. Should be a great way to get reacquainted with Springfield before 2 digital downloads start becoming available each week through the app.
