Like Clear? Check out Color-Adaptive yStock app for Portfolio Monitoring

If you love stocks but don’t love numbers, a new app called yStock yStock - yProduction might suite your style for monitoring a portfolio. The app was created by yProduction, and as you can see from any of the screenshots, it borrows heavily from apps like Clear (Read Review) or Solar (Read Review). And by that we mean it uses a color-adaptive interface that’s much easier to look at than a screen littered with overwhelming numbers and buttons.

You’d have to think that yStock will mainly appeal to those who place a high priority on aesthetics. Unlike Clear from Realmac Software Limited, it doesn’t look like yProduction attempted to bring much functionality to yStock; instead, it just lets you take a quick look at many stocks at once and get a feel for how they’re doing based on the current color backdrop. You can either stick to the many tile view, or click one to make it fill the screen and get a better look at its statistics. While Clear is more of a household name, I’d actually have to say this interface more closely resembles Solar, the recently-released weather app that also bore similarities to Clear due to it’s gesture-based navigation system.

So now we look to the stock people out there to tell us if yStock should be considered anything more than a cheap novelty… It’s selling for just 99 cents, so there’s not much risk in seeing if it’s worth brightening up your portfolio for a change.
