Bad Piggies iPad Cookbook now Available–and with that, Rovio went too far

There have been countless spin offs, toys, movie ideas, and even theme parks that have come to the world as a result of the Angry Birds franchise. And now, Rovio wants to make their way onto your dinner table. They’ve just released a Bad Piggies cookbook–which is really a cookbook spinoff of an Angry Birds spinoff… Yep, that’s the world we live in.

The full title reads “Bad Piggies Best Egg Recipes,” and it should come as no surprise that these aren’t four-course gourmet meals. Instead, the Rovio machine will probably be responsible for about a 50% increase in egg consumption once these 41 different egg recipes start landing on iPads across the world. The cookbook includes a wide range of egg preparation methods—from deviled eggs to omelets to sauces and everywhere in between.

And lest you think there’s no Bad Piggies branding, you’ll constantly be seeing chef-style pig characters popping up as you cook, and the whole cookbook was created in an art style that feels very familiar to the franchise… As far as real functionality beyond the recipes, well, there’s a built-in egg timer and social integration.

Rather than asking the obvious question of  “do we really need this?” I’m just going to tell you that it’s 99 cents for a limited time, and soon it’ll cost $4.99… Do with that information what you will…
