Rockstar releasing Grand Theft Auto III on December 15th, will work on iPhone 4
We’ve been hearing about it for awhile, and now we know when Grand Theft Auto III will hit the shelves of the App Store…
***December 15th***
So it’s going to be an early Christmas for fans of Rockstar Games and their crime titles. The 10 Year Anniversary edition of the GTA port will also become available for Android devices on December 15th, selling at $4.99 all around.
Before we get to worrying about whether or not GTA III on mobile devices will outdo Chinatown, take a second and be thankful that it won’t just be iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users who get to make the call. Instead, the developer is supporting other iOS devices like the 4th generation iPod Touch and the iPhone 4. It will also be supported by a whole slew of Android tablets and phones.
With the game’s release just over a week away, we’re still going off very little when it comes to what kind of quality we should expect. A new trailer should be hitting the web shortly, but Rockstar Games has already released some fresh screenshots. They don’t reveal a whole lot, but it doesn’t appear as though the developer is cutting any corners in trying to bring a complete open-world experience to the iPhone. Let’s hope they get it right—Gangstar Rio could use some competition, and Rockstar is definitely a studio capable of bringing it.
