Hot New iTunes Movie Releases! Watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Kung Fu Panda 2, & other Blockbusters
If you can’t find anything on the DVR and you have already canceled your Netflix account due to price changes or that Qwikster debacle, there’s no better place to look than iTunes for your evening entertainment. Film aficionados need nothing more than an iOS devices to start renting or buying these hot new releases. If you have an Apple TV, stream these movies on your iDevices to your HDTV with Airplay for maximum home theater entertainment. Check them out below before planning your night.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
The idea of an ape takeover is inherently thrilling, so add state-of-the-art special effects and James Franco into the mix and you get a film that everyone’s got to see. If you missed it in theaters or are ready for a repeat viewing, you’ll find it in the iTunes store for $14.99 (option to rent will land on December 20th).
Kung Fu Panda 2
Jack Black is back as the voice of Po the panda in this sequel to the 2008 original. Can’t say I’ve been keeping up with this franchise, but it appears that Kung Fu Panda 2 has Po and his team battling a peacock clan. Sounds promising.
Fright Night
A vampire moves in next door, and all hell breaks loose… This remake doesn’t hold anything back in the gore department, and a stellar performance from Colin Farrell as Jerry the vampire makes it a must-see.
Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame
The lack of a big promotional effort on behalf of the studio doesn’t mean we should write this one off. Detective Dee plays out as a mystery set in ancient China. Martial arts and steampunk elements all blend together in this unique-looing PG-13 affair.
