Surf the Web on the iPad from Your iPhone’s Connection With CoBrowser
This isn’t exactly iPhone-to-iPad Internet tethering, but it’s sort of the next best thing. CoBrowser from developer collect3 allows webpages to be shared amongst iOS devices over BlueTooth.
Rather than tethering, The app’s page describes it’s functionality like this: “CoBrowser DOES allow for the mirroring of webpages displayed on an internet-enabled device on a device without 2G/3G connectivity, with any changes on one display being reflected on the other.”
Okay, so for everyday use CoBrowser
may not prove indispensable, but it’s cool nonetheless. As long as you both have BlueTooth, you can now get the Internet images you’re viewing ported over to your friend’s iPad (specifically, when it’s not connected to wi-fi). It’s being sold for $1.99 in the App Store, and we’ll soon find out if that’s a price people are willing to pay for a sort of watered-down tethering that’s being called a “collaborative browsing experience.” The developer’s mentality that “browsing is better when enjoyed with a friend” may or may not be a sentiment shared by the app-purchasing masses.
