Chore Pad Offers Smart Organization for Parents and Kids

I can see this app landing some children in therapy someday. What’s more confusing than a cool iPad that serves the function of making you work all day? But that’s assuming the worst case scenario. Hopefully, Parents will find a way to use Chore Pad to make chores fun . . . Right?

Developed by Nannek, Chore Pad allows for the creation of customizable chore charts. No doubt in hopes of enlivening that dull premise, the app brings colorful calendars and rewards into play, giving both kids and parents a fresh outlook on approaching daily tasks. There are repeat options, multiple user accounts, and all kinds of customization to meet your work-scheduling needs. It’s an interesting idea that will probably meet with mixed reviews depending on who you ask. One thing is true, though: Many of us find it satisfying to use technology to become more efficient, and if there are any kids out there thinking along those lines, then Chore Pad could make chores easier to swallow . . . For a day or two.

Nannek is a husband and wife team that previously developed PicoScrum for iPhone. That app served as a task management tool aimed at helping adults accomplish near-term goals. So, the move to Chore Pad for iPad isn’t too surprising . . . First impressions show the interface to be user-friendly and fresh. The reward system is a unique idea that could help kids view chores as more play than work. Hats off to Nannek for even attempting to make a task list exciting by “unleashing the full potential of chore charts.”
