Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II . . . Just repackaged DLC

The App Store just can’t get enough zombies these days. Today we welcome Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II into the fold, though it’s a bit confusing to figure out just what it is. A sequel? DLC? Well, it’s kind of both, depending on whether you own the first installment. Mostly, the only difference is the inclusion of a new map and everything that goes with it.

It’s safe to say we all had a great time with this game when it released. It will be interesting to see if this repackaging of content that was already available gives COD: Zombies a boost in sales and results in an even more thriving multiplayer environment. It seems that this game will never fall off the top 10 lists, and early reviews of this “pseudo sequel” would indicate the new content is only going to cement it’s spot.

While other recent zombie titles like Gameloft’s Resident Evil clone Zombie Infection continue to make waves, COD shows no signs of going away. This sequel means little to those avid followers of the game, as they’ll likely be on top of all the DLC and have little to nothing to gain from this repackaged deal.

If you’re one of those people who hasn’t missed a beat in regards to this game, then maybe the biggest takeaway from this news is how the super-long title of this game (complete with two colons) just got longer by two characters.

Call of Duty:  World at War: Zombies II is available in the App Store for $9.99.  Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies I owners can download it as DLC for $4.99.
