Apple Limits iPad Preorders
As we have reported in the past, as well as other news outlets, supply questions continue to dog the launch of Apple´s much anticipated iPad.
Finally, it appears we have some confirmation of supply issues as Apple has limited not only individuals, but businesses, to the purchase of two iPads.
With Wall Street´s expectations as high as they are, suggestions that Apple are creating an artificial demand don´t hold much water.
Apple, however, insists that this is simply a temporary problem that will sort itself out within the month of April.
The simple fact is that Apple can no more afford continued delays, as it can create more bad press following its control freak mentality that has dominated the news of late with its cleansing of App Store.
Additionally, Apple has tied the amount of “extra” units available in its retail locations to areas that are receiving the most preorders. It is a sound strategy to assume that areas teeming with preorders will also have a stronger demand in the same location.
It is as simple as ordering early if you want to see your iPad on the in the first week of April.
